What Is Activepieces?

Activepieces is an open-source workflow automation platform that connects applications and services. Each app connection is called a “piece”, and automations are built by choosing triggers and actions step by step. The interface is designed with non-technical teams in mind, and custom steps can be added in TypeScript when needed.

With AI steps you can add language models to your flows, and you can expose your automations to AI assistants as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.

Activepieces on Your Own Server

Cloud automation services charge more as the number of tasks grows. A self-hosted Activepieces has no task or execution quota; your server’s resources are the only limit. Your connection credentials and flow history are stored on your own server.

Because the server is in Turkey, customer and order data can be processed without leaving the country. With root access you can update Activepieces and connect your own domain with SSL.

Licensing and Resources

The Activepieces core is MIT licensed and free, including for commercial use. Enterprise features such as SSO and advanced permissions are offered under a separate commercial license.

Activepieces needs memory more than CPU. Because the application runs together with PostgreSQL and Redis, we recommend at least 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM. For many concurrently running flows, 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM is a more comfortable starting point.
